The new Washington Park Farmers Market begins on Saturday, August 3 and will run every Saturday in August and September from 10am – 2pm.  The market will be located on the Knox Street Mall. 

“Our mission is to provide our community access to locally sourced products and goods in order to support local businesses as well as to enhance the optimal health and well-being of our residents,” explains Scott Abraham, the organizer of the market, who also owns and runs the Guilderland Farmers Market .

In partnership with the Washington Park Farmers Market, Lark Street Yoga will be offering yoga in the park every Saturday from 9:00-10:00am, August 3 through September 28 (except August 24).  Please register with Lark Street Yoga or get.mndby.ly/svjq8jfisY

An official ribbon-cutting on Friday, August 2 at 2pm in the park will celebrate the opening of the market and offer a preview of several farmers’ market vendors, and feature remarks by City of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Assemblymember Patricia Fahy, and Washington Park Farmers Market Director Scott Abraham.  Also attending will be City of Albany Treasurer Darius Shahinfar, Albany Park Authority Executive Director Matt Peter, Albany Common Council Member Richard Conti, and representatives from the Washington Park Conservancy and Lark Street BID.
