Who We Are

2021 Board of Directors

Daniel McEneny

Daniel McEneny is a lifelong resident of the city of Albany.  His appreciation of Washington Park was instilled by his mother Barbara, who grew up in the Park South neighborhood and considered the park to be her childhood playground.  Daniel is employed with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation; specifically, in the Division for Historic Preservation, where he oversees multiple functions that include federal advocacy, preservation grants administration, and working with colleague organizations, municipalities, and developers from across the state on preservation planning initiatives and economic development opportunities.  He and his partner Jon live on Hudson Avenue in the Center Square/ Hudson Park neighborhood.

Marcia Moss

Vice President

Marcia Moss joined the board of the Washington Park Conservancy in 2015 and has served as Vice President since 2018.  She has 30 years of museum and non-profit experience, in a variety of senior development, marketing, and management  and positions at organizations including the Albany Institute of History & Art, SUNY Press, the Hyde Collection, the Saratoga Automobile Museum and the New York Folklore Society.  She has served on the boards of Historic Albany Foundation, Unity House of Troy and Albany Academy for Girls. In addition to her Conservancy activities, Marcia currently volunteers at the Albany Institute.  After down-sizing from seven acres to urban living, proximity to Washington Park was a major factor in her family’s choice of the Hudson Park neighborhood, which they’ve called home since 2000.

Sarah Read

Sarah Read joined the board of directors in 2018 after working with Conservancy to organize the 2nd Albany Lantern Parade in 2017. Professionally a special education teacher, she currently stays home with her two children, ages 2 and 4- they spend a lot of time enjoying all the Capital Region has to offer, including Washington Park. She is enthusiastic about building community partnerships to create opportunities that celebrate the diversity of Albany’s residents. Sarah grew up in Albany, and returned in 2016 after living in the Boston area for many years.  She and her family now live in the Buckingham Pond neighborhood.

Douglas Ebersman, CPA

Doug Ebersman has served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors since 2014. He is a Certified Public Accountant who has operated his own small firm in Albany since 1997.  He is also active in several other charitable organizations. He lives in Albany’s Center Square neighborhood  with his wife and daughter.
