Who We Are

2023 Board of Directors

Jeff Crumpton

President

Jeff Crumpton joined the Conservancy board in 2020 but has been a supporter and advocate for Washington Park since he and his partner Andy relocated from North Carolina in 2011.  Jeff is Vice President of the Hudson Park Neighborhood Association, and the neighborhood’s proximity to Washington Park was a chief factor in choosing where to purchase their home in Albany.  He has a keen interest in history, architecture, and supporting our local neighborhoods.  Professionally, he works for SPINS, a Market Research firm based in Chicago, which is focused on Health & Wellness consumers and products within the retail product industry.

Marcia Moss

Vice President

Marcia Moss joined the board of the Washington Park Conservancy in 2015 and has served as Vice President since 2018.  She has 35 years of museum and non-profit experience, in a variety of senior development, marketing, and management  and positions at organizations including the Albany Institute of History & Art, SUNY Press, the Hyde Collection, the Saratoga Automobile Museum and the New York Folklore Society.  She has served on the boards of Historic Albany Foundation, Unity House of Troy and Albany Academy for Girls. In addition to her Conservancy activities, Marcia currently volunteers at the Albany Institute.  After down-sizing from seven acres to urban living, proximity to Washington Park was a major factor in her family’s choice of the Hudson Park neighborhood, where they lived for 22 years.  She and her husband recently moved to State Street with a wonderful view over Washington Park.

Michaela Roberts

Michaela Roberts is originally from Ulster County and has lived in Albany since 2016. She works as a Parks Project Associate at the Open Space Institute in Albany, where she provides planning, design, and oversight functions related to park, trail, interpretive, and open space capital improvement projects throughout the Hudson Valley and Adirondacks. Michaela previously worked as a senior planner for Albany County. She holds a Master of Regional Planning degree from SUNY Albany and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College in Environmental Studies and Public Policy. Michaela also serves as a board member for the Capital District Planners Association as the Professional Development Officer. She lived on State Street across from the park for over two years and recently became a first-time home owner in Albany’s Helderberg neighborhood. She regularly enjoys picnicking and taking jogs in Washington Park during the warmer months.

Douglas Ebersman, CPA

Treasurer

Doug Ebersman has served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors since 2014. He is a Certified Public Accountant who has operated his own small firm in Albany since 1997.  He is also active in several other charitable organizations.
