The Tulip Dig and Sale is an annual rite of spring in Washington Park in May, eagerly anticipated by area residents and avid gardeners inspired by the Park’s glorious tulip plantings to beautify their own gardens. The Conservancy organizes the two day event, held on a weekend following the Tulip Festival, working with the Albany City Gardener and her staff. (Tulip Dig: Saturday, Tulip Sale: Sunday)

Lantern Parade

Sunday, November 3, 2019

A new tradition in Washington Park, the Lantern Parade is a celebration of community and creativity that lights up the night as the days shorten towards winter.  In 2018, nearly 1,000 people participated in the third annual Lantern Parade on November 4! The Lantern Parade is the culminating event after months of lantern-making workshops at locations throughout the city of Albany.
