A few weeks ago, commemorating Arbor Day, we reported about our plans to add a record number of new trees to the Park this year.  The Clover-Leaf Nurseries crew, assisted by Conservancy board members Bill Lemmon and Tom Pfeiffer, competed the tree planting last week.

To help the trees settle in and be healthy, the City Gardener and City Forester are working together to make sure the trees are watered. During your walks through the Park, you’ll notice many of the trees have what looks like a small green bag around their lower trunk – this is called a “gator bag” and helps maintain regular, slow release watering for the new trees.
